O.P. Taezhnaya-Cheshuina – sculptor, member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.
She specialized in the field of easel and decorative sculpture, was engaged in plastics of small forms.
The sculpture “Odette” was made in 1954 in the “Ballet” series.
Odette is the heroine of P.I. Tchaikovsky’s “Swan Lake” (1876) – a girl who was turned into a swan by evil spells, but overcame witchcraft with the power of true love.
A ballerina is depicted leaning on the toe of her left foot; the right leg, bent at the knee, is laid back, the body is inclined to the right; arms raised above head.
The inscription on the face of the stand: “Odette”.
The Kasli plant has been casting the sculpture since 1957.
